Mallory's career began as a fashion and creative professional. Mallory was a Fashion Editor at J.Crew, Avenue and also Bride's, the Photography Editor at Nike, and a member of the fashion staff at GQ and Self.
Tapping into her fashion and creative talents, Mallory then pursued her passion, and became one of the preeminent event-focused wedding photographers known internationally. Mallory has photographed approximately 200 weddings with an artist eye and romantic sensibility. This acclaimed international photographer's work has been published in many books, two that she has authored, Outdoor Weddings: Unforgettable Celebrations in Storybook Settings, and Real Weddings: A Celebration of Personal Style.
The former Editor-in-Chief of Bride's, Millie Bratten, said in her editor's column that, "Mallory Samson is one of my favorite wedding photographers - I love how she captures the soul of an event that is wrapped in ritual, and then turns it into art."
Mallory has successfully broadened her photography career beyond event-driven weddings to life-style and fine-art photography.
Mallory's work for individual and corporate clients and magazines includes engagements around the world including such places as Nantucket, Napa, Marfa, Sun Valley, Lake Forest, Provence, Paris, Santa Barbara, the Hamptons, Shelter Island, Greece, San Francisco, Capri and Ravello.
Mallory's photographs have also appeared numerous times in magazines such as Town & Country, Vogue, Martha Stewart Weddings, In-Style, Brides, and British Brides.
Mallory is currently a Contributing Editor at Hampton's Cottages & Gardens magazine, where her work was recently featured. Mallory's work was shown at a one-person exhibition "Extraordinarily Ordinary!" at the Southampton Historical Museum during the summer of 2013. Mallory is also a photographer for "Ina's Blog" at Barefoot Contessa.
